Modine Manufacturing
One of Modine’s products is large vehicle radiators. The client had a
three-part goal:
- "Renovate" the legacy system functionality and apply it to multiple
product lines.
- Give plant operators visual feedback for verifying cellular work
instructions.
- Simplify system use and management.
Soltus provided a combination of system clean-up and new design. By mostly
redesigning and a little “new construction,” Soltus renovated the legacy system.
We extended the manufacturing process to additional lines while providing the
same “look and feel” to all lines; we added wireless barcode scanning to the
manufacturing process. We saw where the business rules could be simplified and
moved to a separate module. That clean-up made the system easier to manage and
use, which in turn boosted efficiency and line throughput. Finally, we provided
full tracking and tracing capability of parts from origin to destination.
